It’s not just about honeybees…

For me, beekeeping was a portal through which I gained an entirely new perspective on my relationship with the Earth. To be a good beekeeper, one must become intimately attuned to the rhythms of nature, the seasonality of each bloom, and the intricate web of life that surrounds us.

Feral Farms aims to work in partnership and reciprocity with the land. It doesn’t start nor end with honeybees. Rather, I approach my work with consideration and respect for all species and the delicate balance of life that makes up our shared ecosystem.

I am deeply inspired by Indigenous wisdom and hold immense reverence and gratitude for the Anikituwagi (Cherokee) people who tended this land in WNC long before me.

With a degree in Environmental Science and a background in wildlife conservation, I bring a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to my beekeeping that highlights the important intersections of agriculture and ecology, and examines how we, as humans, fit into it all.
